Hi y’all! I have some exciting life updates that I just couldn’t wait to share. I’ve been very busy, but it’s all good stuff!
Update number one: last weekend, Connor got his white coat (you know, the white coats that doctors wear all the time) and is one step closer to becoming a Doctor in the Army! It was a big day for us, and for his parents, who flew out for the weekend to attend the ceremony with us. It was so great seeing them from a few days and celebrating the hard work that Connor has put into med school so far.
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw my post. But, I just want to say, that I am so proud of my husband for dedicating his life to others. Of course, he could have been successful at whatever career path he choose, but he choose one that would make a huge difference in this world, by being both a soldier and a doctor. He’s my biggest inspiration.
Also, I love when we have visitors, because we get to play tourist for a little while! We visited Mount Vernon one day, and went to the beach near Annapolis another day. It made me realize how lucky we are to live here, and how much I’m going to miss it when we move.
Alright, now for the big update (and the main thing that’s been keeping me a little distant from the blog):
Later this year, Connor and I are going to be backpacking through Italy and Spain!!!
I’m so excited! Neither of us have been to Europe before, and we are so thrilled to be able to go places that we’ve always wanted to go together. I can’t stop daydreaming and planning! Literally, 90% of my free time has been spent making budgets and finding our hotels and putting together collages of all the things we want to see!
I have been having so much fun figuring out all of the details of our trip, from the hotels, to the trains, to what luggage we will be bringing with us. I think I missed my calling as a travel agent! Although it probably is more fun booking a trip that I’m actually going on.
So, for starters, this is a very basic rundown of where we will be going. I could go into more detail, but it probably wouldn’t make any sense unless you saw my extensive itinerary/calendar. I have a full color-coded binder! Anyway, we will be visiting:
- Barcelona, Spain
- Madrid, Spain
- Sevilla, Spain
- Milan, Italy
- Venice, Italy
- The Amalfi Coast, Italy
- Rome, Italy
- Siena and Florence, Italy
You can bet that you will be hearing MUCH more about this trip in the near future! I have gained so much knowledge about traveling in different countries just from the internet alone. I will definitely be sharing that information with you, along with all of our other experiences! Also, I think I have learned more of the Spanish language trying to figure out the online train schedules than I ever did in my three years of Spanish in high school haha.
I hope you’ll join us on our journeys! I’ll try to come up with some cute hashtag (suggestions??) to use on twitter and Instagram. And I’ll definitely be taking pictures and videos of the entire trip!
